This type of motion is easily observed in our daily activities. When you see a car moving along the National Highway, say Halsema, that car is undergoing translational motion. Basically, if you want to define translational motion, just think, change in location! Although, strictly speaking, pure translational motion only include those motions that are traversing in space without any rotation.
The blue and red dots on the left exemplify translational motion. Notice how each dots move around inside the box. Can you observe any dot rotating?
